TapKit for Hotels

The key card already in the guest's pocket can do more.

Hotel key cards are locked, so nothing can be written to them. TapKit does not need to: it recognises the chip. The same card that opens the room can greet the guest at the spa and log housekeeping rounds.

Today

Housekeeping rounds on a clipboard, a Wi-Fi password on a laminated sheet, and a front desk that cannot say which rooms were serviced when.

With TapKit

Each room's service is a tap with a time against it, the Wi-Fi card in every room is sealed so guests cannot rewrite it, and the desk can greet arrivals out loud.

A real day

Check-in to checkout at a forty-room hotel

The desk books Demo Guest onto a guest card valid until checkout, host: Front Desk.

The guest taps at the concierge phone. The Echo there says: "Demo Guest is here to see the Front Desk."

In the room, the guest taps their phone on the Wi-Fi card by the TV and joins with one tap. No app, iPhone included.

Housekeeping taps the sticker inside room 214's wardrobe door. The ledger records room 214, the phone and the time.

Checkout. The guest card expires. From the console it is ready for the next guest.

Where TapKit stops. TapKit does not replace your door-lock system. It reads the same key cards alongside it, at the desk, the spa or the restaurant, without changing them.
